Hagerman FFA Booth Wins at State Fair
Hagerman FFA members traveled to Albuquerque on Friday, September 7th to install an educational booth in the FFA Exhibit Hall. The booth’s theme was “What’s The Buzz About Pollinators” and showcased a beehive on loan from local farmer Mr. Wesley Pilley, paper flowers and bees made by ag students, facts about pollinators and their importance and crop samples as required by the rules. After judging on Saturday, the Hagerman FFA booth placed 1st out of 18 competitors statewide earning a plaque sponsored by New Mexico FFA and blue rosette from the NM State Fair, as well as prize money.
Booths are judged on Educational Value based on the importance of the display and completeness; Attractiveness of the exhibit based on arrangement, neatness, signage, and place cards used, and crop exhibits; and Theme Presented by the Booth in the areas of appropriateness, relationship of theme to the agricultural industry, agricultural education and/or FFA and the ease of understanding the theme.
Students involved in this project were Wyatt Armstrong, Adiel Clark, Alik Clark, Dakota Grinder, Capp Hoppes, Waylon Nowak, Luis Veloz, and Jada Villa.
